Running course
The JONES-COUNTER system as been used to measure the course, inline with the newest IAAF- regulations. The measurement protocol is available.A switch from the marathon to the half marathon distance can be made during the race at km 8,7. The organizers can not reimburse any registration fees due to any changes a runner makes to his/her race registration.
Pre course inspection
A free course inspection trip can be made by bus on 17th April 2010. Each competitor will also receive a glass of the local wine. The Buses will be leaving from the „Haus der Deutschen Weinstraße in the village of Bockenheim (race start and finish area) at 14.00, 16.00 and 18.00 o'clock.You can get the tender marathon 2010 here: Tender marathon 2010 (pdf document, only in german)
Refreshments points
Refreshment points will be available every 5 km inline with the IWB. (The locations can possibly change because of logistic reasons.)Races can also hand over their own individual drinks / refreshments which will be then transported to the required refreshment point. All drinks / refreshments must be marked with the runners start number and handed over at the start number collection point on race day. untill 8.30 o'clock.
Riesling Wine Sponges for the marathon runners
An extra ordinary refreshment service will be provided for the Marathon racers while running through the small village of Dackenheim. Here the so called Riesling Wine Sponges will be handed out. A very special service consisting of a sponge soaked in cool refreshing palatine Riesling wine.Course records – Marathon Deutsche Weinstraße
